Bring on the GLOW

February 8th, 2010

Looking great begins with great skin but it’s also about knowing how to  “CREATE” radiance.

1.  Moisturise – Start with a hydrating serum, follow with a light moisturiser and then apply foundation evenly.

2.  Conceal – Before using concealer,be sure to moisturise the area well prior to application.

3.  Highligh – Create dimension on your face by dabbing a creamy lighter on the apples of your cheeks.

P/S : Concealer on a dry skin will leave a flaky and patch finish. And for the perfect last touch up,use only a smidgen and blend well!

Sexy Bangs!

February 1st, 2010

Not only a great way to balance out a wide forehead,a long and  chunky fringe also frames the face and highlights your features.Plus,it hides your eyes a little, adding a hot hint of sex appeal!

If you don’t already have a fringe,it’s best to get it cut at a salon.Ask for a thick bang (or show the Keira Knightly picture). If you’re already sporting a fringe and growing it out,you can trim it yourself : Get fringe wet for better grip and place scissors vertically to trim so that bangs stop short at your eye level.Note that hair shortens about half an inch as it dries. Now all you have to do is style!

Step 1 : Apply a thermal protector or smoothering cream to minimise frizz and enhance smoothness.

Step 2 : When blow-drying,place two inches of hair on a large round brush at a time.

Step 3 : Apply finishing spray to set.Alternatively you can apply a bit of wax or pomade for longer lasting hold.

RED on the red carpet

January 22nd, 2010

No red carpet event goes by without at least one celebrity doing the rouge lip thin. Here is my favourites.

How it all began…

The story of how range took over the world.

60 BC is a known year that the Egyptians of ancient Mesopotamia, like Cleopatra, sported red lips. They crushed semi-precious jewels and applied the powder to their lips, and, occasionally around the eyes too!

Late 1500s , red lipstick only became popular in the western world during the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1,who often tattooed her lips black and wore yellow face paint as a fashion statement.Lipstick was made from a blend of beeswax and red pigments from plants.

1770 , by this time red lipstick had grown a reputation;it was thought that any woman wearing it could be involved in witchcraft. In fact, the British Parliament passed a law againts it!Queen Victoria said,it was impolite to wear any make up at all.

The red lipsticks MUST own !
